Dolly Madison |
On this day 1969 FRB saunters over to the house of perenial loveable loser Charlie Brown and his gang to have a nice breakfeast with Charlie and all his pals. FRB has always been in good standing with the Peanuts gang and everyone agrees that FRB would make a fine addition to the gang, all that is except for writer Charles Schultz. Schultz feels FRB's sometimes whacky behavior might not fit in with the Peanuts mentality. Nevertheless FRB also delights in these sit down breakfeast's because they all get to share in Dolly Madison treats, a sponsor of Peanuts. Nothing could be finer than eating donuts of all shapes and sizes until your heart was content, oh yes don't forget the milk to wash it all down. Afterwards Schroder would play some Strauss on his piano, Lucy would dole out unsolicited advice and FRB and Charlie would play a little catch while the rest frolicked at their liesure. This was a day of delight respite, which was what the Peanuts gang was all about. FRB envied the serenity and friendship they all shared, something we all could use a lesson in these days.
