Adolph and FRB |
| On this date 1939 the United States sent FRB as a represenative to speak to present day lunatic Adolph Hitler. At this point Adolph had been running over much of Europe and it began to worry the US that some of his ramblings had anti-American sentiment. Of couse, FRB had some exposure in Germany and even a little success in the radio market. So as a good wiil act FRB met with Adolph. Too say the meeting did not go well would be an understatement, outside of the fie dining and excellent wine selection, FRB could find nothing in common with Adolph. Adolph had no like for FRB as he considered him very low on the evolutionary chain and maintained that only a country such as the US could such a being of freakish appearance and nature. FRB countered by laughing at Hitler's art work and the fact that Jesse Owens had run roughshod over his beautiful German boys. Among other insults were that of his ridiculous outfit, shoe polish mustache, and the fact that he FRB was bigger on German radio than Hitler himself. Hitler outraged at the insults ordered FRB home the next day. This mission of peace never had a chance as FRB later explained in a subsequent interview " you had two men in a room with two distinct visions of the world, although I am refered to as somewhat unrealistic at times with outlandish social behavior, Mr. Hitler seems to have the idea that he needs to see perfection in everything, perhaps his meeting with me only reinforced that thought." |
